Our Independence Day

Our Independence Day

By Anglia Emmendorfer

You Felt My Pain

I Melt Into Yours.

We Are Burnt And Broken

But Oh So Loveable.

Our Whispers Echo In Triple Forte’

Wishes To Have Met

And Loved Long Ago.

Now, We See Shades Of Grey,

Blurred Lines Of Vision,

And Sound Without Decimals.

Love Was Not Grand Back Then;

Not Being Truly Grounded,

Not The Love Deserved,

Or Without Life Lessons To Polish

And Make It Shine In The End.

Now, We Love In Silence

Like Hidden Lovers

Dancing In Shadows

On Independence Day.

Fate Intertwines Two Souls;

A Leap of Faith.

You Dancing Backwards

Trusting Me To Lead

Forward To New Memories;

Our Waltz To Last Chance Destiny.

No Landing Gear

No Parachute To Soften Impact

Only A Sail, Stern And Bow

Lets The Wind Lift Us

And Grant Smooth Sailing;

Thousand Miles Away.
