Winter Skies

As the misty driven snow falls,
Trees sound out your name.
Bare to the bark
As the core to my heart.
No leaves to cover the coldness
Or shade out any light
Or warm the frozen droplets
As the days grow long.
Yet, the wind surrounds
The complexity of it all.
No footprints in the snow
Or shoving in the cold
Or toast the year's
New beginning kisses..
Only snowflake memories
Touch my bare crippled soul.
Trees sound out your name.
Bare to the bark
As the core to my heart.
No leaves to cover the coldness
Or shade out any light
Or warm the frozen droplets
As the days grow long.
Yet, the wind surrounds
The complexity of it all.
No footprints in the snow
Or shoving in the cold
Or toast the year's
New beginning kisses..
Only snowflake memories
Touch my bare crippled soul.
